Prospective Recruit Information
The Newman Lake Fire & Rescue was formed in 1949 when citizens of the
community had to watch the Woehrle home burn to the ground due to lack of water
to extinguish the fire. A fund was established with the Tri-Community Grange as
the sponsor. By late 1951 $2,000 had been raised and a 1941 Ford pumper with a
500 gallon tank was purchased. Presently we have ten response vehicles,
including a fire boat, manned strictly by local volunteers. The citizens of
Newman Lake depend totally upon those volunteers for all medical and fire
related emergencies.
Newman Lake Fire & Rescue is conducting an ongoing search for new
volunteers. Personnel are needed for both the firefighting and emergency medical
response teams.
