Volunteering

Today, as always, the department is staffed by volunteers thereby saving the
Newman Lake taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars in wages and benefits.
Our volunteers respond to all medical emergencies, structure and wild land
fires, vehicle and boating accidents and natural disasters in the Newman Lake
area.
We all lead very busy lives outside the department. Past and present members
include: attorneys, educators, doctors, nurses, small business owners, farmers,
homemakers, engineers, sales people, active duty and retired military personnel,
secretaries, retirees, and many others. We are bound together with the one
common goal of helping our neighbors.
After major events such as Firestorm, our membership explodes – but after the
excitement fades, so do our ranks. Right now our membership is at a critically
low level! We need your help!
